Cooper Pro`s and Cons 19:00 - Feb 29 with 4816 views | perplex | Would we really be better off with someone else at the helm, would another manager have been able to get more out of these players or been able to bring better one`s in, a different manager would have the same resources under this bunch of misfits running the club, its a tough one to call. Cooper Pro`s and Cons on 19:30 - Feb 29 with 3867 views | jack247 | Yes to better off with someone else, yes to getting more out of these players, doubtful we would have got significantly better new recruits under someone else. Seeing as he’s probably going to be here until early next season at the soonest, there have been positives from the last three games. We haven’t been outstanding in any of them, but we won the way home game and we’re competitive in the two tricky ones.

Cooper Pro`s and Cons on 19:43 - Feb 29 with 3827 views | Swans9 | I agree with op. Even if Cooper was doing worse and we were in the bottom half would the owners spend on a new manager and pay off the current one.

But dodgy refs and bad game management aside, it's now 1 win in 8 for Cooper with West Brom rocking up pissd off by losing to Wigan, so strong chance it'll be 1 in 9. He needs a fckn rocket up his arse now...in a crap league...not good enough. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

He clearly has some good contacts in football, which allows us to bring in up and coming players on the cheap. Brewster, Wilmot, Guehi, Gallagher, Woodman. With the budget, or lack of budget he was given, it’s difficult to argue that he didn’t do brilliantly in bringing players in.

Brewster- is a decent player and has potential, will do ok . Wilmot - nothing special Guehi- im not sure........ Gallagher - up and down, has looked decent, but has looked like a headless chicken. Woodman - again not sure, has had his moments but........
Cooper Pro`s and Cons on 20:37 - Feb 29 with 3624 views | LeonWasGod | Well, we had a different manager last year who got most of this lot playing better. So maybe that answers your question. New recruits is a separate issue. Coops has done well there, although others would have been involved too - Woodman, Gallagher, Brewster all improvements on what we had. Wilmot’s good too.

So how would we look without any of them? I hate to think. I thought Gallagher played well today. He’s a young lad still settling In. Brewster has a touch of class about him. Woodman is no Fabianski but he has his merits - saved 2 consecutive penalties. My Chelsea-supporting pals speak highly of Guehi, as do my Watford-supporting pals about Wilmot. Each one is better than or equal to what we had previously. [Post edited 29 Feb 2020 20:46]

We’ve definitely improved the last three games with Kalulu/Garrick providing an outlet and a better balance in midfield. . The bar wasn’t set particularly high before the Huddersfield game though and I’d say excellent is stretching it a bit. At least we’re competitive at the moment.

The results haven't reflected our performances. We got robbed against one of the best teams in the league a couple of games ago. Denied a brilliant win today away to a playoff chasing side. I'm not sure what you expect?

IMO when players get loaned in, the fact that they are young and learning get overlooked, compared to if they have come through our youth. Our youth: Roberts (24), Rodon (22) Whereas the players we get in on loan are expected to be the finished product: Wilmot (20), Guehi (19), Gallagher (20), Woodman (22), Brewster (19) The harsh reality is that all 5 players mentioned above will be too good for us in a couple of years. Personally, I’d rather have the chance to have these players through their development, rather than sticking with what we had prior (overpaid, overrated prem players)

He's not learning by his mistakes ,one being and it's massive ,sitting back and taking a pounding whilst kicking the ball into the wilderness, time and time again he falls into this silly trap ,best form of defence is attack .the quickier he takes this simple message onboard the quicker the fans will really take to him .

It's a ruthless profession and only the fittest (shrewdest) survive. To be fair we seem to have a fair bit of history of being a springboard for up and coming managers to get into the big time. I await the next one.
